As a reading volunteer with the Riverview Gardens School District (her alma mater), Sonji seeks to be a role model to students by expanding their exposure to different types of literature and culturally inclusive storytelling.
CHILDREN'S GARDEN RESTORATION
Childhood presents an array of challenges for children coping with peer to peer conflict and personal trauma. Stepping away from traditional disciplinary tactics, the Beaverton School district has adopted a holistic approach. The Healing Garden provides children having a difficult day/experience with a serene, quiet space for self reflection.
GROCERIES FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED NEIGHBORS
Supporting Store to Door enables volunteers to provide seniors living independently and adults with disabilities with an affordable, personal, volunteer-based grocery shopping and delivery service.
